Format: Extended periods of personal silence and solitude;several periods of group meditation and contemplation; contemplative walk in the Abbey woods; conferences on particular mystic to help facilitate entering into silence; opportunity to pray with the monks.

For Who: Adult women and men seeking to deepen their spiritual lives and grow in their awareness of God's presence in their lives. Accommodations available for single persons and couples.

Conferences: The conferences will focus on various aspects of this work: its theology (who God is in it); its spirituality (what does it say about how we relate to God, particularly in prayer); and its relevance for us today.

COVID-19: We require that everyone wear a mask while in common areas.

Followed by Group Silent Prayer in Small Conference Room

5:15am – Group Silent Prayer (optional)
8:00am – Breakfast
9:00am – Conference in Aquinas Room
Followed by Group Silent Prayer
11:00am – Mass in Retreat Center Chapel

4:00pm – Conference in Aquinas Room

6:30pm – Contemplative Walk in Abbey Woods

About the Retreat Master

Fr. Ephrem Arcement O.S.B.

  Fr. Ephrem has been a monk of St. Joseph Abbey for the past 10 years and serves as the primary monastic liaison to the retreat center.  He is originally from Lockport, LA and holds a PhD in Spirituality.
