About the Retreat

Let’s walk together through the story of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, where we find an example of God’s presence in our lives. Though Jesus had died a seemingly unjust death, leaving His disciples disheartened and confused, they were filled with grief, but He chose to draw near to them, walking beside them even when they did not
recognize Him. Have you ever been disappointed in God’s plan for you? How are you walking away from him right now? What is your grief causing? Are you confused and afraid? Is your tendency to run toward God or away from him? Is there a source of stress, grief, or anxiety you have yet to lay at his feet? God is with us. He’s there walking alongside us in the moments and circumstances of our grief every day. He’s there in the scriptures, speaking to our hearts. And he’s there in the Eucharist, waiting to enter our souls. Jesus is with us in our grief.
